5 Chef Changes To Know At Chicago Restaurants

WICKER PARK— Chef Fred Noinaj has departed Americano 2211, the North Avenue restaurant that opened in April in the Birchwood Kitchen space. The 2016 Eater Young Guns semifinalist says he'll soon have news about a new project which will be "nominally larger."

RIVER NORTH— NoMi at the Park Hyatt's hired a familiar face as the restaurant's new executive chef. Ed Surawhom the Tribune noted was a Jean Banchet Award finalist and a semifinalist for the James Beard Rising Star Chef of the Year award— is returning to NoMi. He most recently worked as chef de cuisine over at Perennial Virant. He's also a former NoMi intern.

LINCOLN PARK— Mon Ami Gabi has a new executive chef, as the Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises' restaurant has named Michael Battlocletti to the post. Battocletti was previously the sous chef at Next.

LAKEVIEW— The new Lakeview Southern Italian restaurant from Billy Lawless has its pastry chef. Coda di Volpe has lured Marjorie Easley to the position, according to the Tribune. She comes from The Blanchard.

GOLD COAST— Gibsons Restaurant Group veteran José Sosa is LuxBar's new executive chef. Sosa has also worked at Boka and Ambria. They've also launched new menus, which can be seen below.
