Small Fry, the late-night burger and fry joint announced in March, will soft open on Saturday, according to co-owner Colin Kelahan. Triple-cooked fries are the stars at this elevated-fast-foot spot and they'll also serve poutine.

Health inspectors gave the restaurant their approval Wednesday, and they'll serve burgers with griddled patties. The owners, Kelahan and Egan Quinn, met at DePaul University. This is their first restaurant, as Quinn worked front of house positions at Bohemian House in River North and also at catering company Paramount Events.

Check out the menus below. They'll open at 4 p.m. Saturday and will also be open this Sunday. They'll close this Monday as they prepare for Tuesday's formal grand opening.

Small Fry, 2491 N. Milwaukee Ave., open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday; 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through Friday; noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Closed on Wednesday.
