Loop workers have a new excuse to come home late, as The Dearborn opens tonight on Block 37's ground level. Former "Top Chef" contestant Aaron Cuschieri, who was on the New Orleans season back in 2013, will be serving upscale pub faire, along with chops from a concise menu.
The restaurant's tagline is "urban American tavern," and the menu fittingly includes items such as confit Spanish octopus and roasted beef marrow as appetizers. But there's plenty of other food options for those who might be intimidated by those items, including a Midwest fried chicken and burger ground with Wagyu beef. Perhaps the Lawless siblings could have a competition between The Dearborn, The Gage and Beacon Tavern to see which serves the best fish and chips. Meanwhile, the chops are handled a bit differently, as diners pick their choice of dry-aged duck breast, rack of lamb, bone-in filet mignon or beef ribeye, then have it topped with a selection of sauces, including red Harissa. Oh, and there's a new entry in the ranks of Chicago's cheffy hot dogs. The Dearborn offers a Chicago-style hot dog made of pork.
Read the dinner and dessert menu below. Lunch debuts Saturday, and weekend brunch will eventually be added.
