WEST LOOP— The owners of Miku Sushi in Lincoln Square are trying out Cajun seafood in the West Loop. They've opened Mad Boiler ("Mad" isn't just short for "Madison," but it's also a synonym for "angry."). They serve seafood boils, po'boys, lobster and king crab legs. Status: Certified open, 1045 W. Madison Ave.

LAKEVIEW— Fans of baked empanadas in West Lakeview: 5411 Empanadas is about to open another location. The 1,000-square-foot restaurant will also serve breakfast empanadas. They're giving away free food Saturday morning. Status: Opening on Saturday, 3715 N. Southport Ave.

EVANSTON— Dave's Italian Kitchen is reborn tonight as Dave's New Kitchen. Expect a scaled-down version of the suburban favorite. Status: Opening tonight, 815 Noyes St., Evanston.

LAKEVIEW— Southport & Irving (SIP) is launching a new grab and go concept called The Wine Shop. Grab wines, charcuterie and other items to go. Status: Certified open, 4000 N. Southport Ave.

WICKER PARK— The Wicker Park location of Parlor Pizza Bar is about ready at the former Moonshine spot. They'll serve 12 in-house cocktails along with the Brooklyn-style pizza popular at their original West Loop location. Check out the menu below. Status: Certified open, 1824 W. Division St.
