—A hostess at popular Bucktown Costa Rican restaurant Irazu did hero work on Saturday night. Alicia Colon caught two people who snatched a wallet from a daughter taking her mother out for a pre-Mother's Day dinner in the dining room, then chased the thieves down, first in a cab outside and then on foot before cops arrived, ABC7 reports.
—A van crashed into Humboldt Park Cuban spot Señor Pan late last night. The restaurant owners say they hope to reopen as soon as possible and the woman who was driving the SUV, which hit the parked van and sent it into the restaurant, is in critical condition, NBC5 reports.
—Seoul Taco, the St. Louis food truck that's opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant in the former Mercadito Counter space at 738 N. Clark, has an opening date of May 31, according to reps.
