LINCOLN PARK— Atlas Brewing Company has relaunched as Burnt City Brewing. They're opting for a more edgier tone, but will have all the comforts folks have enjoyed at Atlas. A trademark battle forced the change. Status: Certified open, 2747 N. Lincoln Ave.
UKRAINIAN VILLAGE— The Rookery wants to be the next great neighborhood bar and restaurant on Chicago Avenue in the Old Oak Tap space. The food isn't for the birds (even if there's a bit of an aviary theme), as the former Brass Monkey chef is behind the menu. There's also a huge patio. Status: Certified open, 2109 W. Chicago Ave.
ANDERSONVILLE— The Summerdale space once more has life, as Kanela Breakfast Club has opened their Andersonville location. Folks know the drill: It's a Greek-inspired menu from former state Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias and Chris Lardakis. It's the local chain's fifth location and they've just switched over to Bow Truss coffees. Status: Certified open, 5413 N. Clark St.
LOGAN SQUARE— Metal Haven Grill won't have its food ready, but the hybrid restaurant and record store will open for some sweet hangs this weekend. Status: Opening at noon on Friday, 3835 W. Fullerton Ave.
RIVER NORTH— Up on the 16th floor of the Trump Tower, their new outdoor restaurant —The Terrace— is open. There's no taco bowls on the menu for the space, which seats 200. However, chef Devin Keller's worked with the Tower's acclaimed restaurant, Sixteen, and will serve dishes like grilled focaccia and burrata toast with heirloom tomato jam and a Maine lobster roll with charred corn, tomato and bibb lettuce on a New England bun. ROGERS PARK— Blaze Pizza has opened up a spot near Loyola University. Now Rambler students can enjoy the chain's quick-fired pizzas. Status: Certified open, 6550 N. Sheridan Road
THE LOOP— French Accent Restaurant & Bar has a new space to accompany the original inside Willis Tower. The buffet-style restaurant now has a location less than a half-mile away. Status: Certified open, 111 W. Jackson Blvd.
BERWYN— Oliver Valenzuela—the Guatemalan chef/owner behind the shuttered Oliver's Cafe in Bridgeview—now has a new spot in the suburbs. It's called Oliver's, and it serves prime cuts of beef and seafood. Status: Certified open, 6908 Windsor Ave., Berwyn
BRIDGEPORT— A new frozen yogurt shop will serve treats near U.S. Cellular Field. Bridgeport Yogurt & Cafe won't just have yogurt, but they'll also have nachos and coffee, reported DNAinfo. Status: Opening on Saturday, 3108 S. Wallace St.
LITTLE VILLAGE— After an abrupt closing last year, Mi Tierra en la Villita is back in business. According to DNAinfo, the 30-year-old Mexican restaurant, quietly reopened. They've even brought back most of their staff. Status: Certified open, 2528 S. Kedzie Ave.
OAK PARK— Hamburger Mary's has arrived in Oak Park. It's a similar set up to their Andersonville location, this time pairing with Kinslagher Brewing. There's a show stage and more. Status: Certified open, 155 S. Oak Park Ave.
