—Due to the stormy weather forecast, Parson's Chicken & Fish is postponing its block party originally scheduled for Sunday. The third-annual event will once more take place outside the restaurant and feature a special menu and DJs. The restaurant says they'll post updates via social media.
—Piece Brewery and Pizzeria in Wicker Park has launched beer growler delivery. Now customers can get fresh beer with their thin-crust pies.
—The Gold Coast building that houses Maple & Ash has been sold. Crain's reported that the building at State and Maple went for $53 million. Crain's is also reporting that the developers are also looking at Rosebud Restaurant's Carmine's Bar & Lounge, across Mariano Park from Maple & Ash.
—Over in Avondale, Metropolitan Brewing Co. is building a taproom and brewery at 3057 N. Rockwell St. DNAinfo reported the new facility will take up 20,000 square feet, and they hope to move later this year.
—Goose Island Brewing Co. in January recalled 2015 coffee and barleywine varietals of its sought-after Bourbon County Brand Stout. The beer was infected with bacteria, and the brewery launched into an investigation. The Tribune reported that the lab work has returned, and they've identified the bacteria, Lactobacillus acetotolerans. However, the investigation continues as they still have figured out how the bacteria ended up in the beer.
—Earlier this week down on Fulton Market, Smack Shack began weekday lunch service. The seafood venture from Four Corners Tavern Group and the Minnesota owners who created the concept will serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The menu follows below.
