SOUTH LOOP— Villains Chicago has named a replacement for chef Dennis Stover. They'll debut chef Ian Munroe's menu today to celebrate the re-born restaurant/bar's one-year anniversary. Apparently, Munroe's experience includes stints at Salero and Summer House Santa Monica. Check out the menu below.
MAGNIFICENT MILE— The Hyatt Regency Chicago named chef Roberto Alicea as its new food & beverage director. He started working at Hyatt when he was 14. He'll oversee the property's kitchens at Stetsons Modern Steak + Sushi, American Craft Kitchen & Bar, BIG Bar, and Market Chicago, plus room service. It's Hyatt's largest property in the world.
WICKER PARK— Craft Pizza has a new pastry chef. Julie Cohen is a former pastry assistant at Revolution Brewery & Tap Room. Under Cohen, Craft has debuted weekend breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon when they'll serve New York-style bagels. The bagels are a big deal for Cohen, who's a Long Island native.
THE LOOP— English ping pong import AceBounce is bringing on Peter Vestinos as the venue's beverage consultant. Bar patrons know Vestinos' work from The Sparrow, the gin and tonics at The Betty and more. Chicagoist has further details.
