—There's a new brunch afoot that features some of Brendan Sodikoff's greatest hits. 3 Greens Market, his new daytime cafe on Hubbard Street in River North, now serves brunch, which features Small Cheval burgers and Dillman's pastrami sandwiches plus brunch-only facets including a breakfast buffet, Bloody Mary bar, biscuits with pastrami gravy, and Doughnut Vault goodies.
—Revival Food Hall, the apparent game-changer heading to the Loop from 16" on Center (Thalia Hall, Promontory, Moneygun), has another newsworthy recruit: acclaimed Alpine-inspired restaurant Table, Donkey and Stick. Fooditor reports that their outpost in the food hall is named Danke and will serve its bread, charcuterie, sandwiches, beer and wine. Antique Taco and Furious Spoon are among the restaurants already announced for the development at 125 S. Clark.
—The long-awaited Baderbrau brewery finally revealed an opening date. Reps are announcing "the biggest grand opening block party the South Side has ever seen" on May 29, the Sunday before Memorial Day, at 2515 S. Wabash. The project was announced in December 2014.
—The Dearborn, the Lawless sisters' upcoming upscale restaurant in Block 37 shops, hired a beverage director and released details on the drinks program. Zack Taylor, most recently of RPM Steak, will serve as sommelier and beverage director, and also expect an "upscale slant on an Old Fashioned," rotating sparkling cocktails, and house-made cordials on a cocktail list spearheaded by the Dogma Group. The restaurant is slated to open this summer.
—Five Lincoln Park restaurants were burglarized late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning. The Crime in Wrigleyville and Boystown blog reports that House of Wings, Bacci Pizza, Aloha Eats, Angela's Burrito Style and Cafe Luigi were among a rash or burglaries that also struck retail and residences in the neighborhood.
—Chicago's own Carlos Cuarta will attempt to win the Star of the Bar competition on Sunday afternoon at the National Restaurant Association show at McCormick Place, when he competes with other regional finalists to create a cocktail with Jagermeister at the yearly event.
