The co-owners of Lokal in Wicker Park are trying their hands at barbecue, but this spot has a twist. It's a drive-thru serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Earl's Drive Thru BBQ should open in a couple weeks, serving smoked meats and doughnuts made in-house at 4835 N. Austin Ave.

Owner Art Wnorowski and his wife, Gosia Pieniazek, will offer daily specials like fried chicken, fish and chips and bone-in steaks. The regular menu will feature Chicago-style barbecue. The menu's being revised, but it could include smoked turkey legs, prime rib, brisket, pulled pork and homemade sausage. Wnororwski mentioned sides like potato salad, coleslaw, beans, fries and collard greens. They've taken over the former Duff's Dogs location.

Lokal opened a second location last year on Ashland Avenue in Lincoln Park. Wnorowski didn't mention an opening date for Earl's, so check back later for more.
