10 Chicago-Area Restaurant & Bar Openings This Weekend

NAVY PIER— Just in case it ever does warm up, Navy Pier is ready. A second location of Snow Dragon Shavery is coming to the tourist attraction, part of the pier's revamp of its food offerings. Snow Dragon, which first location is in Lincoln Park, offers Taiwanese-style frozen sweets. Status: Opening Sunday, Navy Pier food court

ANDERSONVILLE— Middle East Bakery & Cafe's long-awaited expansion has arrived. They took over the former Icosium Kafe, and DNAinfo has all the details. Status: Certified open, 5200 N. Clark St.

ALBANY PARK— Brü Coffeeworks is about to open. Along with coffee, they'll have donuts from Dinky Donuts, reported DNAinfo. They have no affiliation with the simular-named spot in Wicker Park. Status: Opening on Saturday, 3005 W. Lawrence Ave.

GOLD COAST— Up on the third floor the Waldorf Astoria Chicago has launched a pop-up they're calling The Kitchen. The menu will mix chef Nicholas Marino's Italian heritage with classic French techniques. Dishes include bone-in ribeye with marrow butter and Murray River salt; crispy skin salmon salad with avocado, Persian cucumber, frisée, poached egg and dill emulsion; and gnocchi served with fine herb, parmigiana with white and shaved seasonal truffle. SCHAUMBURG AND BOLINGBROOK— Ikea has relaunched its remodeled restaurants inside their furniture showrooms. They're celebrating until Sunday with giveaways and food discounts. Status: Certified open, 1800 McConnor Prwky, Schaumburg and 705 E. Broughton Road, Bolingbrook

OAK PARK— Nando's Peri-Peri continues to expand in Chicagoland. The South African chicken chain is opening in Oak Park, their second suburban location. Status: Opening on Saturday, 1138 W. Lake St.
