Navy Pier visitors know they now have more options for alcoholic beverages. Now news broke over the weekend that iconic Chicago ice cream shop Original Rainbow Cone is opening its second location, bringing a small kiosk over to Navy Pier, according to Time Out Chicago, which first reported the news. They'll open on May 7 near Riva Restaurant, right on the south dock.
The Beverly favorite is a seasonal phenomenon, serving ice cream for 90 years on the South Side. That jibes quite nicely with Navy Pier, which —as the Trib pointed out— is celebrating its 100th birthday this year.
