Chicago eating and drinking aficionados have less than two weeks until Rick Bayless opens his highly-anticipated new projects on Randolph Row. Bayless is finally unleashing the dual connected projects Cruz Blanca brewery/tasting room and Lena Brava hearth-driven restaurant fittingly on Cinco De Mayo, ending the long wait for what he said back in 2013 is "like nothing" in the U.S.
Reservations for the Baja-inspired seafood restaurant Lena Brava are available now via the website.
To recap, Bayless signed the lease back in October 2013 and teased some of the details a month later. Construction and permitting had been very slow—and Bayless revealed little else about them until more than two years later, including a taqueria of sorts in the brewery's tasting room, many more details on the restaurant, and mezcal-driven beverage program. Now, the projects are finally set to open on May 5. Much more to come.
