12 New Restaurants Coming Soon to Chicago

Maria's Kimski is nearly ready, Yolk's new location brings evenings to River North, and much more

BRIDGEPORT—Construction is winding down on Kimski, the new Korean-Polish mashup restaurant from and next door to Maria's Packaged Goods and Community Bar. The interesting-looking space is nearly finished and owner Ed Marszewksi is hoping to open within a month or two.

RIVER NORTH— Breakfast favorite Yolk is planning a second River North spot opening on July 1 inside the Marina City complex at 340 N. State St., Crain's reports. This restaurant will have a liquor license and stay open in the evening, unlike other Yolks. They're also looking at opening spots in Hyde Park, Lincoln Park, Andersonville, Wicker Park, Bucktown and Lakeview, as well as other cities, which could bring the total locations up to 40 within the next five years.

RAVENSWOOD— Bow Truss coffee continues to grow, as Phil Tadros has announced another location, this time at 4756 N. Clark St. He thinks it'll open by June.

LITTLE ITALY— Dim sum is on its way to Taylor Street inside the former Dough Boys space at 626 S. Racine Ave. Jade Court will serve up Cantonese cuisine from a former owner of Chinatown's Phoenix RestaurantDNAinfo reports.

OLD TOWN— Wells Street is about to get a new morning option as Doodle's Doughnuts is set to open on March 7 at 1419 N. Wells St., according to a Facebook post. They'll pour Metropolis coffees, serve smoky, candied and honey Sriracha bacon, as well as offer doughnuts, fritters and other pastries.

LAKEVIEWLKH Management isn't ready to reveal what it has in mind for the shuttered Halsted's Bar+Grill, but a Craigslist help wanted ad posted by the company is hiring for a new restaurant in Lakeview. It says there will be a wood-fired grill, and the ad described a venue with 100 seats inside and another 100 outside serving pizzas and a brunch similar to LKH's Replay Beer & Bourbon in Andersonville.

THE LOOP— Sugar Bliss Cake Boutique has scored its second location, this time inside the Palmer House Hilton Hotel, reports Crain's. Customers will find Sugar Bliss' cupcakes and cake pops inside the new 900-square-foot spot with seating for about 12 people. The original location is at 115 N. Wabash Ave.

OLD IRVING PARK— Lou Malnati's Pizzeria is targeting a March 17 opening for a new location at 3986 N. Avondale Ave., reports DNAinfo. The location is for carryout and delivery only.

GREEKTOWN— Aviva, the new restaurant from the owners of The Parthenon, now has a new opening date of March 10.

WRIGLEYVILLE— A liquor license application has surfaced for Irie Tavern at 3404 N. Clark St. Could this be the return of reggae in Wrigleyville? Attempts to reach the management have been unsuccessful so far.

WICKER PARK— Now that City Press Juice & Bottle has a Lakeview spot, they're opening another location at 2136 W. North Ave., according to DNAinfo.
