IRVING PARK— Lou Malnati's has opened its 45th location at the Six Corners intersection on the Northwest side. They'll deliver deep dish north to Jefferson Park, and this location also handles catering. Status: Certified open, 3686 N. Avondale Ave.
IRVING PARK— Remember the buzz around the Mirabell closing? Well, the feelings surrounding the loss of a Chicago relic has led to some renovations, and now, it's been reborn as M Pub. They are now serving burgers and tacos instead of German fare, according to DNAinfo, but have old favorites available on a "secret" menu. Status: Certified open, 3454 W. Addison St.
RIVER NORTH— Mercadito's is opening their revamped basement bar tonight, renamed La Mez Agave Bar. They're serving cocktails from the Tippling Bros. and focusing on mezcal, which is so hot right now. Status: Opening Friday night, 108 W. Kinzie St. (basement of Mercadito).
PILSEN— Harbee Liquors & Tavern has reopened after a two-month closure. The building's been around since 1878, and problems with the liquor license has hindered the bar, according to DNAinfo. Status: Certified open, 1345 W. 18th St.
OAK PARK— Oak Park's first brewery is open. Kinslagher is pouring a selection of beer made on premises inside their taproom. Status: Certified open, 6806 W. Roosevelt Road, Oak Park
OAK PARK— Not to be overshadowed, Oak Park's second brewery is also opening, but in preview mode. Oak Park Brewing Co. is inviting visitors over to watch NCAA basketball this weekend. They'll also serve their own beer, as well as brews from folks like those at Kinslagher. Status: Opening 5 p.m. on Friday, 155 S. Oak Park Ave.
O'HARE— Summer House Santa Monica is ready for travelers at Terminal 2 inside O'Hare International Airport. The LEYE spot includes a dining room and bar. Status: Certified open, O'Hare International Airport, Terminal 2.
NAPERVILLE— Nando's Peri-Peri has opened another branch of its South African grilled chicken restaurants, the first in Chicago's suburbs. The two-story spot has a similar design to other Chicago restaurants. Status: Opening on Saturday, 6 W. Jefferson Ave.
