After a two-year run, Rosebud Restaurants has closed the restaurant formerly known as Joe Fish. The River North restaurant's windows were papered over earlier this week, and the sign hanging from the corner of Dearborn and Illinois was removed. A closing may have been foreshadowed last month after executive chef Joe Farina's ouster.

Rosebud remade the restaurant last fall, modifying its name to Joe Fish Italian bringing in a a new menu. Rosebud officials didn't return a request for comment, but the group has lately gone through changes. Last year, the group shuttered Centro Ristorante, a concept Farina helped launch. That space last week reopened as Imperial Lamian.

What will become of that prime piece of River North real estate? No one's sharing right now.
