Boystown Fixture Halsted's Bar+Grill Closing on Valentine's Day

Halsted's Bar + Grill is ending a 12-year run on the Boystown strip, as the popular establishment will close on Valentine's Day. LKH Management, which owns Halsted's and other Boystown spots Replay Beer & Bourbon and Elixir, will reconcept the space, according to a news release. They haven't yet revealed details of what they're planning.

What's known is management believes the new, unnamed place will fit the Boystown scene better, as it seems Halsted's, for all its charm, has grown a bit long in the tooth. LKH Management's Mark Liberson's token press release quote says they want to create a new place that's "better-suited for the neighborhood and offers options currently not available to our neighbors in Lakeview." The new spot will also serve food.

The new bar also won't be primarily a gay bar, as Liberson said in another statement that "the new concept will serve the diverse and evolving communities within [Lakeview], which includes all singles, couples, and families." Check back for more when LKH releases more. But until then, patrons have 10 more days to visit Halsted's.
