Chef Kevin McMullen OUT at Band of Bohemia After Three Months

The Ravenswood restaurant and brewery is down one chef.

Band of Bohemia

Three months after opening, critically-acclaimed culinary brewpub Band of Bohemia is served its first shake-up in the form of a chef departure. Chef de cuisine Kevin McMullen officially is out of the kitchen as of earlier this week. Previously, he held the title of executive chef at The Brixton, also earning critical acclaim for that Andersonville gastropub, and was a member of the Eater Young Guns final 50 in 2012.

"I enjoyed my time and work at Band of Bohemia, and wish the team continued success moving ahead," McMullen says. "During my time there, I had the opportunity to work with some very talented people. I am looking forward to spending some time with my family as I prepare for my next chapter cooking here in Chicago."

In response to his departure, owners Craig Sindelar and Michael Carroll issued the following statement.

Due to an internal matter that was handled by ownership, Kevin McMullen has decided to part ways with Band of Bohemia. Ownership and Executive Chef, Matt DuBois, have sincerely appreciated his talents and service during our opening months, and wish Kevin well in his future endeavors. The future of our kitchen always has been and remains in the supremely capable hands of our Executive Chef, Matt DuBois, who will continue to be the driving, creative force in leading Band of Bohemia's culinary direction.
