After exploring the idea for the last couple months, Alpana Singh is officially opening a restaurant in Evanston sometime soon. The Boarding House and Seven Lions owner signed a lease at 1701 Maple Ave. on the southeast corner of the Church Street Plaza urban mall, and she's planning to open a Mediterranean concept, dubbed Terra & Vine, at a later date.
Singh and Co. are taking over a space formerly held by a Bravo Cucina Italiana location, which holds 115 seats in the dining room, a 40-seat bar, a 70-seat outdoor patio, and four private dining rooms. She's still looking for a chef, so that news and an opening timeframe will come at a later date.
This news comes on the same day that her chef at The Boarding House, Tanya Baker, was announced as a James Beard Award semifinalist for the second straight year. More to come soon on Singh's third restaurant.
