There's a temporary plan at the Talbott Hotel to fill the vacancy left by Mercadito Kitchen's closure last month. The Talbott Restaurant has took over the space until the hotel is ready to announce a permanent concept sometime later this year. Read the full statement from Talbott's reps below:

After the closing of Mercadito Kitchen, our team is working with Commune Hotels & Resorts on a temporary concept, The Talbott Restaurant, which will serve our guests and neighbors in the interim before a new restaurant is announced later in 2016. The Talbott Restaurant is open now and serving seasonal, contemporary fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The hotel's website provides a few more details for the restaurant's "American bistro-inspired entrees." Despite being open for but a few weeks, apparently they've already developed a "house favorite." They're appropriately calling it The Talbott, a traditional English breakfast with poached eggs, grilled tomatoes, wild mushrooms, bacon, bangers, baked beans and toast. Check out the all-day menu here (PDF), and the breakfast menu over here (PDF).

Again, this is only a filler, interim concept. So what will eventually come to the space? There have been some rumblings, but nothing worth reporting just yet.
