The first big opening of 2017 should happen within a week of New Year’s Day. Temporis—the fine-dining restaurant featuring tasting menus from two chefs who worked together at Les Nomades—should open on Jan. 5 at 933 N. Ashland Ave. in West Town, according to a restaurant representative. That’s about seven months since news broke that chefs Evan Fullerton and Sam Plotnick plotted to open a new restaurant.
The co-chefs have designed an intimate space with 20 seats that will be reservation only for dinner. Plotnick owns the restaurant, and it’s a bit of a role reversal. He worked at Les Nomades in Streeterville as a line cook to Fullerton’s sous chef. They described the food as contemporary American an interview with Fooditor. Much of their herbs and other ingredients will come from a hydroponic garden on premises. The same interview mentioned a little bit of the restaurant’s design including the use of LEDs that will ensure each tables has different lighting and colors, depending on temperature and other variables.
There’s no word on when reservations will go online, but hopefully there will be more to share in the coming days after Christmas.
