There’s no East Coast bias here, as New York-based Shake Shack is even celebrating the Cubs’ World Series win. The chain is teaming up with Chicago chef Stephanie Izard (Girl & the Goat, Duck Duck Goat) and offering a special edition burger for one day. The cheeseburger has goat chili from Izard’s Little Goat Diner in the West Loop, will only be available on Friday at Shake Shack’s two Chicago locations.
The burger, developed by Izard and Shake Shack culinary director Mark Rosati, is topped with the chili along with pickled peppers and sour cream between a toasted potato bun. Surely, the burger represents a coda to the Billy Goat curse that plagued the Cubs for 108 years.
Shake Shack’s locations in River North and inside the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel will open at 10 a.m. on Friday. Sorry, Skokie! The CAA location may make a solid stop for fans who attend the team rally at Grant Park. The burgers are only available as supplies last.
Izard and her husband, craft beer consultant Gary Valentine, have enjoyed the Cubs’ World Series run. Izard also recently celebrated a birthday in style and made a request.
For my 40th bday today I'd like the @Cubs to kick some Cleveland ass! #Cubs #flythew @ Chicago,… https://t.co/aa9kLpa9Mn
