2Fun Chinese and Won Fun Chinese, the stylish Sichuan restaurant and lounge combo coming to Randolph Street next to Italian sandwich shop/grocer J.P. Graziano, is opening on Nov. 30 for dinner following private dining services next week at 905 W. Randolph St. Won Fun sits on the lower level and will feature 60 seats and an open kitchen. Upstairs, 2Fun has room for 160 seats and will sling Chinese cocktails with dim sum cart service complimented by karaoke.
The concepts come courtesy of Austin Baker (Bar Marta), who previously worked under Brendan Sodikoff at Hogsalt restaurant group. Baker made his own research and development trip to China, similar to Stephanie Izard’s journey when she and her crew researched Duck Duck Goat up the street. Joined by chef Ben Ruiz, Baker spent 10 days eating and visiting restaurants in China to develop their own recipes, according to the Tribune. Baker’s experience while living in Bhutan also helped flesh out the concept.
Baker's crew revealed a sneak peek of the 35-seat bar at 2Fun. There's a large red dragon hanging from the ceiling over the bar which stands in the center of the lounge.
The focus isn't on straight-up authenticity, as Baker and Ruiz have adapted many recipes. The menu includes Sichuan favorites like kung pao chicken (served bone in), but other regions are represented as well. Take the Peking duck, for example. There's also dishes like foie gras fried rice.

Foie gras fried rice
Drinking and more fun will be the upstairs lounge's focus. A variety of cocktails and Chinese-inspired iced teas will be available at the bar, and the restaurant has also released a mysterious video entitled "house beer." Expect karaoke up there too.
Much more to come on this highly-anticipated addition to Randolph Restaurant Row.
