So where does Martha Stewart dine when she visits Chicago? Turns out she heads to the suburbs. On Tuesday, the 75-year-old domestic icon ventured to Western Springs to stop at chef Paul Virant’s acclaimed Vie Restaurant for lunch. Of course the flattered restaurant passed the good word on to its Facebook fans:
When Martha Stewart is in town and has lunch at Vie ... it's a good thing! Big thanks to Martha for dining with us and for the photo op ✨ #vierestaurant

Stewart was in town promoting Meredith Corp., which counts Martha Stewart Living and Rachel Ray Everyday in its portfolio. Martha remains a busy woman, as she's appearing alongside rapper Snoop Dogg on VH1's Martha and Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party. Snoop sadly didn't make it to Vie.
Stewart also got political and told the Tribune that she sent her congratulations to Donald Trump following the election. That may bury the hatchet in a long-percolating feud between the reality TV stars, which goes way back to Trump’s former show Apprentice.
Stewart visited the suburbs rather than Virant’s other restaurant that’s actually in the city. Perennial Virant is in Lincoln Park, but perhaps Stewart really wanted to visit the acclaimed restaurant and was in need of a nice drive through the western suburbs.
