Work’s coming along on Hotel EMC2, a new 21-story Marriott hotel in Streeterville scheduled for a spring opening east of Michigan Avenue at 228 E. Ontario St. Hotel officials just released the first rendering of the restaurant/bar inside the hotel. It’s called The Albert, keeping in line with the hotel’s relative theme.
The rendering shows a quaint space with an open kitchen and a dry-erase board for the menu. It’s just a rendering, but there’s books stacked on a shelf inside the counter. Are these books just for aesthetics, or will guests have a chance to read up on some physics while dining? There’s much chatter about the intersection of science and art on the hotel’s Facebook page, so perhaps there’s a coloring book amid the pile. Management said they'll release more details in 2017.
Marriott brass over the weekend also applied for The Albert’s liquor licenses, including a license for an outdoor patio. That’s an element previously not shared publicly. The hotel is still sticking with March opening, but for now check out the rendering as they share further details.
