Say goodbye to BlackFinn AmeriPub in River North soon. The chain sports bar/restaurant, popular among tourists and college football fans, will close as their neighborly owners at Siena Tavern—which shares the same building—will take over the space. The timetable for the shutter hasn’t been released, but construction should start on a new concept in January, according to Crain’s.

DineAmic Hospitality Group, Siena Tavern’s parent company, didn’t provide details to what they have planned for the BlackFinn space. DineAmic also owns Public House, and Bull & Bear in River North, as well as Prime & Provisions steakhouse, just over the river in The Loop, and Bar Siena in the West Loop.

BlackFinn opened in September 2013 in Chicago. The chain still has a location in suburban Mount Prospect. Their food wasn’t very well received by critics, as this 2013 review in the Reader will remind diners.
