Hutch American Cafe opened over the weekend in River North. It’s a spinoff of Hutch American Bistro, the popular restaurant in Lakeview near Wrigley Field. The cafe is billed as an all-day brunch restaurant, which will make it popular to those working odd hours and other brunch fans who don’t want to wait for the weekend.

They’ve taken over the former Robust Coffee Lounge, and the menu is essentially an updated version of the brunch menu at Hutch on Clark Street. Diners will find sandwiches, omelettes, flatbreads and salads. They also serve smoothies and have a selection of brunch cocktails.

The tidy space is simple and rustic. There’s a chalkboard menu and a painting featuring a version of the Chicago flag with the brunch essentials of a Bloody Mary, coffee, eggs and waffles in place of the stars.

Check out the menu and photos below.

Hutch American Cafe, 416 W. Ontario St., (312) 300-4195, open daily 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
