Forthcoming chef in residence Hisanobu Osaka—who takes over Nov. 2—isn’t the only thing new over at Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises’ Intro. In addition to Osaka’s menu—which will include a mash-up of Japanese ramen with Italian touches—the Lincoln Park restaurant will also offer a family-style dim sum menu from executive chef Stephen Gillanders. Starting tonight, dim sum will only be available from Thursday through Saturday until the end of November.
Reservations will only be available via phone and dim sum diners will be seated in a specific area of the restaurant. They’ve already redecorated that portion of the dining room with Chinese lanterns.

It’s not the cart service many may know from Chinatown restaurants. This dim sum is made to order and will cost much more at $72 per person. It’s not traditional, much in the same vein as Duck Duck Goat’s weekend offerings, as Gillanders’ menu even includes a Thai chicken soup. There’s pretty limited space with room for 18 per seating, twice a night, one at 6 p.m. and another at 8 p.m.
As far the new regularly-rotating chef: Osaka joined LEYE when they opened Naoki Sushi in January inside Intro. His Intro stint officially starts on Nov. 2, and LEYE will reveal his a la carte menu next week. Check back for more on Osaka then.
Meanwhile, check out Gillanders’ opening dim sum menu below. Reps say that Gillanders will roll out changes throughout so repeat diners won’t be bored. Again, dim sum launches at Intro tonight.
