Tour Pisolino, Avondale's New Rustic Italian All-Day Restaurant, Now Open

And full menus are involved

Pisolino, an all-day Italian cafe, opens today in Avondale.

Serving up breakfast, lunch and eventually dinner, Pisolino opened its doors today in Avondale at the intersection of Belmont, California and Elston. They’ve transformed the former Pork Shoppe space and visitors will forget barbecue was ever served inside, as Pisolino instead focuses on rustic Italian cuisine.

Ownership is going for neighborhood charm and will offer Pugliese-style pizza. The thicker crusts are unusual for Chicago. The wine program is also something to look forward to, as chef James De Marte is excited to showcase his experiences in Italy. Folks won’t find wines by the glass, and instead will find wines by the quartino.

The chef’s wife, co-owner Rachel De Marte, is a wedding planner and has built-up ties in the industry. Her penchant for detail is on display throughout the space.

Read the soft opening menus and view the photos below.

Pisolino, 2755 W. Belmont Ave., opening hours (subject to change in the next two weeks), 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Evening hours and dinner service will be added.
