President Obama impressed the staff on Friday night over at Swift & Sons with his kindness. The Commander-in-chief posed with staff for photos after attending a private event at the fancy steakhouse. Obama visited his adopted hometown over the weekend where he cast his presidential ballot and stumped for U.S. Senatorial candidate Tammy Duckworth in time before the Nov. 8 election.
While Swift & Sons didn’t share details on what he exactly ate on Friday, they did say that the event’s menu included steak, seafood and sides. He was “very kind to staff,” according to a restaurant rep. He visited the steakhouse from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The president, a White Sox fan, also snubbed the Cubs who were playing over the weekend in the National League Division Series. Instead he met up with supporters in the West Loop over at Sepia, according to NBC Chicago. Sepia didn’t have photos and acted coy about the visit via a Facebook post.
Obama has shown appreciation for restaurants even before reaching The White House. He famously demonstrated that love while a guest on PBS Chicago’s “Check, Please!”
Best. Friday. Ever. Thank you, Mr. President Barack Obama for dining with us! Instagram @swiftandsons swiftandsonschicago.com
