Remember SPiN, the Ping Pong-centric spot that originated in New York that featuring an ownership group that included Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon? Not to be confused with the Boystown landmark of the different capitalization, but SPiN's still coming to Chicago, planning to soft open in mid-February in Marina City at 344 N. State St., according to reps.

The plan was to open by the end of 2015, but that was delayed. Here's a few more details: The 18,000-square-foot space will include 20 Ping Pong tables and two bars. They'll also have private lounges for folks who don't want a paddle. The space is ideal for group events, and they've posted their catering menu, which could give some clues of what the club will offer to regular customers who drop in casually. Mini-braised rib sandwiches, mini lobster rolls and octopus brochette stand out. They're also offering flatbreads and tons of veggie options including a caprese skewer. See the full catering menu below.

Keep it here in the coming weeks for more as opening date grows closer.
