Sneak a Glimpse of Mad Social, Showcasing Gina Stefani's Sense of Style

Stefani group's first new restaurant in more than a decade opens Feb. 3 in the West Loop.

Ashok Selvam is the editor of Eater Chicago and a native Chicagoan armed with more than two decades of award-winning journalism. Now covering the world of restaurants and food, his nut graphs are super nutty.

Gina Stefani isn't averse to sports, as she's a Bulls and Blackhawks fan. But the daughter of Chicago restaurant icon Phil Stefani didn't want to make sports the focus of her new restaurant, Mad Social, located a stone's throw away from the United Center.

Guests won't find a video wall inside—instead it's a refined rustic feel with nods to her family's Italian heritage. There's plenty of dark woods, leather booths among the 74 seats, taxidermy and exposed brick, and ornate framed silhouettes. Check out the photos above.

Mad Social is the first new concept from Stefani Signature Restaurants in 14 years, and like Phil Stefani's first restaurant on a once-quiet block of Fullerton Avenue in Lincoln Park, Gina Stefani wants to be part of an up and coming community where she knows the names of her regulars. Mad Social opens on Feb. 3 at 1140 W. Madison Ave., and don't worry, there will be two TVs for sports fans who need their fix.
