Alinea Renovations Likely Beginning In January, Ay Chiwowa Is For Sale, More AM Intel

—That Alinea renovation and six-week temporary shutter that will result in a "major redesign and conceptualization" will reportedly begin in January, according to Malay Mail Online, coinciding with its road show popups in Madrid, Miami, and possibly New York and more. Co-owner Nick Kokonas isn't confirming any details yet, saying "we will be announcing the details of both in mid-October."

—Rockit Ranch's reconcepting of Ay Chiwowa may not happen after all, as the space and its 4 a.m. liquor license are now for sale for a cool $495,000. Partner Arturo Gomez says in a statement that "after we announced the reconcepting, we received many inquiries about purchasing the property being that it has a rare 4 a.m. license. This led us to putting it on the market to better assess if we should sell or reconcept, especially at a time when we are focusing on our newest concepts." Stay tuned.

—One Off Hospitality's director of culinary operations and former Big Star chef Justin Large is exiting his position as Paul Kahan's right-hand man to move to Grand Rapids, MI to be closer to his family as he raises his one-year-old son. One Off is interviewing for his replacement.

—There's a new all-day BYO cafe near Millennium Park with Dublin-imported Peach and Green. The 65-seat fast-casual spot serves all three meals, build-your-own sandwiches and salads, and coffees and smoothies at 33 S. Wabash.

—Piece Brewery and Pizzeria was the major local winner in this past weekend's Great American Beer Festival in Denver, taking home a bronze medal in the Other Strong Beer category for its "Take Back the Streets" double pale ale, the Tribune reports. No other city brewery won a medal but a few suburban spots did.

—The folks behind White Palace Grill, Hollywood Grill, and Plymouth Restaurant & Bar are working towards opening another 24-hour diner. They're hoping to open Griddle 24 in the spring at 334 W. Chicago Ave., formerly Baba Palace.

—Mish Grill, the Middle Eastern restaurant at 1413 N. Ashland, is shuttered after 11 months in business, DNAinfo reports.
