Former longtime Blackbird chef David Posey and former Publican pastry chef Anna Posey's highly-anticipated first restaurant is coming into focus. The husband-and-wife duo are taking over the Randolph Row embattled and shuttered nightclub restaurant Sawtooth, DNAinfo reports and David Posey confirms, for a slated opening sometime in the first half of 2016.
Sawtooth was besieged by neighborhood residents in recent months following a shooting in March. The nightclub succumbed and closed in April. The Poseys took control in July—announced via an Instagram post with the set of keys—but didn't disclose the exact location at that time.
The chef couple is planning an upscale restaurant with an 8-course tasting menu in the $75-90 range and a la carte options, seating 55 on the first floor and a private dining space upstairs, which should please the neighborhood much more than Sawtooth did. They haven't decided on a name yet.
