THE LOOP— Foodseum opened in Block 37 on Saturday. This is a big break for the food museum, which was previously limited to pop-up exhibits at festivals. The first exhibit covers encased meats of the world. Status: Certified open, Block 37, 108 N. State St., second floor.
WEST LOOP— The Eastman Egg Company has a new post inside the Ogilvie Transportation Center at a former Caribou Coffee. They started as a food truck, and now have two locations to serve up breakfast sandwiches and more. Status: Certified open, 500 W. Madison Ave., second floor.

WRIGLEYVILLE— Lowcountry is ready for the stretch run in Wrigleyville, bringing those plastic bags full of seasoned seafood and karaoke to Lakeview in the old Blokes & Birds space. Status: Certified open, 3343 N. Clark St.

MCKINLEY PARK— There's a new ice cream cafe from a Peoria couple. The Avitias have opened Grandpa's Delight, serving up ice cream, coffee and sandwiches. Status: Certified open, 2025 W. 35th St. [DNAinfo]
RAVENSWOOD— Bar Rista Cafe is serving soups, salads and sandwiches. They also have beer and wine. It's the former Troquet and Mangal Bar & Grill space, as the latter shuttered last year. Status: Certified open, 1834 W. Montrose Ave. [DNAinfo]
