— Starting today, Small Cheval will open seven days a week in response to customer demand. Their hours stay the same: 11:00 a.m. until midnight, but the kitchen is closed from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. But you can grab a new "boozy iced chocolate" that they added on draft during that time.
— Firecakes Donuts are scheduled to open their second shop at the beginning of October at 2453 N. Clark in Lincoln Park, according to DNAinfo. The new location will feature everything that customers know and love about the River North original, just in a larger space with seating and a patio in what used to be a Caribou Coffee.
— Crafthouse Cocktails' Moscow Mule is coming to United Airlines flights beginning October 1. Look for Charles Joly, the award-winning co-founder and head bartender for the Chicago-based bottled cocktail brand, to be on board bartending in first class on a Chicago to Denver flight the day of the drink’s launch. Travelers will also be offered a free Moscow Mule on eight select happy-hour flights that day.
— Enjoy some rooftop rays while you still can at Bernie’s Lunch & Supper's recently-opened rooftop patio. It seats 80 and has a second bar.
— The Violet Hour is now offering a line of cocktail bases (Tahitian vanilla, wormwood-bittered can sugar, more) for a cool $13.70 per 250ml bottle. The bases will also be available at Publican Quality Meats in the near future.
