The sequel to Replay Beer & Bourbon and Elixir, the popular Boystown arcade bar/cocktail concept opens on Tuesday, and they're ready to serve up nostalgia and stiff drinks in Andersonville. They've set up shop at the corner of Clark and Balmoral and designed an open space equipped with a full kitchen helmed by Paul Dobroksi, former chef de cuisine at NoMI Bernardo Ibarra and Steve Farbstein (formerly of Girl and the Goat, Bristol and Gather)
While the two spaces are connected, both give off a unique feel. "Rampage," "Joust" and "Cruisin' USA" are among the retro arcade cabinets inside Replay, which counts 26 brews on tap (at least in the photos). Drinkers will find Bell's, Stone and Founder's, but if they're slumming, Bud Light's also present. Beer ranges from $4 for Bud Light to $7 on the high end. There's also seven cocktails, including the "Ecto Cooler," which may bring back "Ghostbusters" and Hi-C memories. There's also an extensive whisky list.
Food-wise, reminiscent of role-playing games where players can create their characters, Replay's burgers offer various modes of customization. There's also breakfast, with chicken and waffles on the menu on the weekend.
While Replay's designed with youthful exuberance, Elixir is a bit more polished. There's a shiny white bar with 10 stools and a more modern feel. For now they're only pouring cocktails, so stay tuned for the food menu.
Meanwhile, check out the Replay's menu below and the photos above. It opens at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
