Johnny's Grill Revival Still Has That Old Logan Square Diner Look

Sarah Jordan's revival of the longtime greasy spoon is opening within days.

This should make some longtime Logan Square residents happy. While new Johnny's Grill owner Sarah Jordan is adding a bar to the imminently-reopening iconic neighborhood greasy spoon, the restaurant portion, seen in the photo above, still has a diner feel.

Old school padded red stools line a curved counter above white tile in front of a kitchen outfitted with a griddle and deep fryers. Specked off white and green formica still covers the floor. And although it's barely visible through a darkened doorway, the bar appears to have a similar aesthetic.

As previously reported, Jordan hopes to open her revival of Johnny's Grill, which suddenly sadly shuttered in May 2014, by the end of the week. Stay tuned to see what she'll cook and serve.
