Parachute Snags Another Accolade as a Bon Appetit Best New Restaurant

The Avondale Korean-American stalwart landed at no. 5.

The awards keep coming for Beverly Kim and Johnny Clark's "last shot." After becoming Eater Chicago's restaurant of the year, the Jean Banchet best new restaurant in Chicago and a James Beard Award finalist for best new restaurant in the country, Parachute, the husband-and-wife team's acclaimed Korean-American restaurant in Avondale that almost never was, landed as no. 5 on Bon Appetit's America's best new restaurants 2015 today.

It was the only Chicago restaurant to land on magazine's top 10 list that is topped by AL's Place in San Francisco. One Off Hospitality's Dove's Luncheonette, which is on Eater's list of the best new restaurants in America, was among the preliminary list of 50.
