Johnny's Grill Returns to Logan Square With New Menus and a Bar

New owner Sarah Jordan is serving her take on diner food in a double-sized space.

After going dark more than 15 months ago, Johnny's Grill is back open on the square—with a section of toasts, house-made pop tarts, Irish bacon bap sandwiches, and a full bar. The iconic Logan Square greasy spoon has quietly reopened on under new chef/owner Sarah Jordan (Boka, Cicchetti), who has implemented some new wrinkles.

What's similar is the space: the main diner room still has the same red stools, counters, formica floors, and plenty of windows for people-watching on the square. But it expanded into the former flower shop next door which now houses a bar, high-top seating, and lots of ferns; and a patio is in the works for an opening at a later date. Take a look around in the photos above.

As for the food, it's definitely still diner-esque but with a cheffy twist and a slight bump in pricing. The menus surfaced online last night, and you can read through them below.
