After going dark more than 15 months ago, Johnny's Grill is back open on the square—with a section of toasts, house-made pop tarts, Irish bacon bap sandwiches, and a full bar. The iconic Logan Square greasy spoon has quietly reopened on under new chef/owner Sarah Jordan (Boka, Cicchetti), who has implemented some new wrinkles.
What's similar is the space: the main diner room still has the same red stools, counters, formica floors, and plenty of windows for people-watching on the square. But it expanded into the former flower shop next door which now houses a bar, high-top seating, and lots of ferns; and a patio is in the works for an opening at a later date. As for the food, it's definitely still diner-esque but with a cheffy twist and a slight bump in pricing. The menus surfaced online last night, and you can read through them below.

The new Johnny's Grill is open for all three meals, and the bar stays open as late as 2 a.m.
