The Gage, Gemini Bistro Owners Partnering on New Lakeview Restaurant

Two weeks after Coalfire Pizza opened its Lakeview location, another noteworthy restaurant is heading to the Southport strip. Billy Lawless (The Gage, The Dawson) and Ryan O'Donnell (Gemini Bistro) are partnering on a new restaurant at 3335 N. Southport, the former home of a salon, Southport Corridor first reported. Lawless confirmed the news this morning and O'Donnell is listed on a building permit.

Lawless declined to discuss details on the project, so the specific concept and opening timeframe are currently unknown. Southport Corridor quoted the building owner terming the restaurant as "upscale casual neighborhood restaurant that will focus on high quality food in a comfortable and lovely atmosphere." A real estate listing sizes the space as 3,200-square-feet.

O'Donnell shuttered his other restaurant, Rustic House in Lincoln Park, in June, telling patrons at the time to "stay tuned for our next project." Lawless is already working on another new project in a McDonald's space on Wabash. More to come on their collaboration in Lakeview.
