Big changes to report for the team behind The Radler, the German restaurant that's been holding it down on that sizzling strip of Milwaukee Avenue in Logan Square. They've switched up plans for D.A.S., their fine-dining concept that's been in the works since the Radler opened. Nate Sears and Adam Hebert have changed course, as Sears told Chicago Magazine that the space will now be used for a fast-casual concept for Euro-style döner kebobs with a July 22 opening date at 2855 W. Fullerton Ave.
The magazine described the concept as "Chipotle style." There's worry for Sears and Hebert that some people feel that The Radler is too fancy for its Logan Square neighborhood, and if the community believes that, how will they react to the original plan for D.A.S.? In December, Sears told Eater Chicago that the plan was to open D.A.S. in 2015 with a seasonal menu that used a "little more finesse and focus and bringing in the nicest product that I can find."
More news on D.A.S. as it unfolds.
