Well Done: Gene & Georgetti Opens 2nd Location In Last 74 Years

The Rosemont spot is very similar to the Chicago location.

Venerable Gene & Georgetti finally succumbed to expansion pleas by opening their second location in the steakhouse's 74-year history. Their suburban Rosemont outpost began serving steaks on Wednesday, as reservations can be made here. There's also their private events facility next door, dubbed The Estate By Gene & Georgetti.

The interiors of the Rosemont restaurant ring familiar to anyone who has dined at the original spot in Chicago. There's red leather booths and red carpet. The waiters are wearing all-white uniforms to give dinners a butcher-like feel. The new location's menu wasn't available at press time, although reps previously said it would be the same as the original.

Gene & Georgetti is a rare independent steakhouse, and the family-owned River North flagship, debuted in 1941, is Chicago oldest steakhouse. Ownership told The Daily Herald that they've considered a suburban expansion over the last 25 years and left offers on the table. Apparently, those solicitations weren't sizzling enough, until now.
