LOGAN SQUARE— The Heavy Feather, Scofflaw's cocktail lounge above Slippery Slope, is ready to provide a quieter escape from the craziness downstairs. Opening tonight, the 1970s-themed bar prices most cocktails at $10, such as the "Casino" (oolong-infused Death's Door Vodka, Brovo Boomerang, sparkling wine, orange bitters, lemon) and "Polished Nail" (Famous Grouse scotch, Ramazzotti Amaro, Drambuie, dry vermouth). Then there's the $12 "Shark Attack" (El Dorado Three-Year Rum, Smith & Cross rum, Koloa Dark rum, raspberry, pineapple, coconut). Beer includes Boddington's Pub Ale, Stroh's and Mexicali Original. LOGAN SQUARE— Bow Truss has passed its city inspections and will open its Logan Square coffee shop after the holiday. It will share a similar floor plan to Bow Truss' upcoming Roscoe Village location. Status: Opening on Monday, 2631 N. Kedzie St.
LAKEVIEW— Belmont Cafe has opened in the former Clarke's space on Belmont. The menu is new, but there's still a connection to Clarke's as the cafe's owner was also Clarke's general manager. Yes, they're still open late. Status: Certified open, 930 W. Belmont Ave.
MAGNIFICENT MILE— The Ghiradelli Chocolate Co. has opened a second ice cream shop inside The Wrigley Building. It's the company's largest with two floors and seating for 95 indoors and 25 outdoors. Status: Certified open, 400 N. Michigan Ave.
LOGAN SQUARE— Arbor, a new coffee shop and cafe inside the Green Exchange, is open now. There's a focus on sustainability on the menu. Status: Certified open, 2545 W. Diversey Ave.
ALBANY PARK— The Dog House 2 is back open, serving Vienna Beef hot dogs and tamales. Status: Certified open, 4501 W. Lawrence Ave.
