On the eve of Bastille Day, chef Didier Durand tipped the Tribune that August 31 will be Cyrano's Farm Kitchen's last day after nearly 20 years of service. He's sold the River North property, though he won't reveal information on the purchaser.
Once the restaurant closes, Durand expects to pursue a different cooking avenue, perhaps a long-in-the-works cookbook, but another restaurant does not appear to be in the cards. Durand has been cooking in Chicago for nearly 30 years, working in several highly rated restaurants in the northern suburbs and Chicago before opening Cyrano's in 1996.
