RIVER NORTH—Thai Dang is wasting no time working towards his next concept, HaiSous, having just popped-up this past Monday at urbanbelly (where he invited attendees out to an opening party in July) and announcing another pop-up for Tuesday, June 16 at Ramen-san (dinner is $55 per person and you can make reservations via their website). Will he feature dishes not found at the last pop-up? Will he announce when and where his new restaurant will be opening? Stay tuned. [Reader / EaterWire]
PILSEN—Don't forget that the Pilsen Food Truck Social is happening this Saturday and Sunday, featuring 26 food trucks you can sample for the cost of a $20 ticket. Thalia Hall will host live music and beer will be provided by Revolution Brewing. More information here. [EaterWire]
WICKER PARK—Turns out there are some people that are not all that thrilled about the idea of an alcohol-serving Taco Bell invading their neighborhood. Ald. Joe Moreno's office, along with neighbors, are asking for alcohol service to cut off at midnight and for a security guard to be on site. Stay tuned to see if Wicker Park will definitively get their boozy Taco Bell. [DNAinfo]
LINCOLN PARK—Fairways, the golf-themed restaurant, is offering a new $25 weekend brunch special featuring bottomless mimosas along with any breakfast item from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The restaurant also recently brought on Pete Repak as executive chef, who was previously at DryHop. [EaterWire]
