Turns out the report that Umami Burger is moving onto Randolph Street is true. The Los Angeles-based chain will open its second Chicago location (the first opened in Wicker Park last September) at 945 West Randolph Street (in the former home of Tomato Head Pizza Kitchen) sometime in spring 2016.
This will put Umami Burger right next to another expanding fast-casual chain, Nando's Peri-Peri. The West Loop location will be decidedly more spacious than its Wicker Park sibling, boasting 2,734 square-feet (and will include a patio) that will seat 125 customers in total.
Stay tuned for more news on Umami Burger's expansion.
