If Donald Trump's presidential campaign scores any election victories, his camp won't be celebrating with a beer from suburban Bedford Park's 5 Rabbit Cerveceria. His racist remarks about Mexican immigrants angered 5 Rabbit's ownership, who announced they'll no longer brew their special beer for the bar at Trump Tower. 5 Rabbit had been brewing a special beer, Gringolandia Super Pils, for ReBar.
Andres Araya, 5 Rabbit co-owner, told WBEZ that he and his partners couldn't continue with their business relationship with the GOP presidential hopeful. 5 Rabbit is considered Chicago's first Latin-American brewery, and Araya (who is Costa Rican) said Trump's remarks were full of hate, showing a belief that he didn't accept Latinos' positive impact in the country.
The 50 remaining kegs of beer left over will be sold to other bars across the city under a new obscene name that involves your mother. Trump's comments earlier in the day have also led NBC and Univision to cut ties. Though, Trump disputes who actually made the calls on severing those links. Regardless, good luck on that presidential campaign, Mr. Trump.
