Take a Stroll Through Local Foods, Bringing Farm Fresh to Bucktown

The large new Bucktown market deals features The Butcher & Larder, a cafe and an educational center.

After a soft opening this past weekend, Local Foods, the large new market devoted to selling local produce, meat and more, is making its official debut tomorrow at 1427 W. Willow St. in Bucktown. The 27,000 square-foot Local Foods is open from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. all week long.

Besides the market, Local Foods also features Rob Levitt's The Butcher & Larder (which made the move over a few weeks ago), Stock, a café featuring chef Abra Berens (which features a number of casual food items such as pasties, a hot dog, soup and desserts - you can see Berens' menu in full below), along with educational aspects (HandCut Foods, chef demos, classes) as well as a wholesale and distribution area.

For their grand opening tomorrow between noon and 1:00 p.m., Local Foods will feature a number of local chefs (Trenchermen's Pat Sheerin, La Sirena Clandestina's John Manion) offering up small bites to guests.

Before you stop over to see what Local Foods has to offer, take a virtual walk around the space in our photo gallery above to get a lay of the land.
