Chefs named at Hampton Social; Blackwood BBQ Starting Dinner; More

RIVER NORTH— Hampton Social, the new project from the guys behind American Junkie, has named Carlos Contreras executive chef. The Mexico native is the former executive chef at Pearl Tavern and sous chef at Siena Tavern. They've also named Alejandro Gonzaga as sous chef. Gonzaga worked with Contreras at Siena Tavern.

WEST LOOP— Blackwood BBQ is starting dinner service at their Clinton Street location starting July 10. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. [EaterWire]

RIVER NORTH— The folks at Citizen Bar have a new gimmick involving a special cocktail and a music mix called "The Pineapple Party Starter." When patrons order the drink, they'll get a USB drive with the music, with the suggested intention of drinking the cocktail while listening to the tunes. They're giving it away starting this week. LINCOLN PARK— Maybe there's something about fondue, as management from Geja's Cafe claims that more than 16,000 people have become engaged at the restaurant since it opened in 1965. So be on the alert if your date suggests Geja's. [EaterWire/multiple reports]
